Facebook are making more changes. This time they are changing the layout of the desktop version of your business page. A spokesperson for Facebook has said “We’re testing a new design for Pages on desktop to make it easier for people to learn about and interact with businesses on Facebook, including a larger cover photo and more prominent call-to-action button”
Over the last couple of days, we have noticed other pages getting special treatment and having their business pages updated to the new layout.
We have been waiting patiently hoping ours would change so we could show you an example but still nothing. However, our friend, Anna Wilk from www.annawilk.com has received an update and has allowed us to share pictures of her page. The first image shows what the page used to look like.

As you can see on the new version, the top of the page looks less cluttered, and we love that the profile picture doesn’t obscure some of the image. However, we feel the profile pic is a bit too small for something that is supposed to define the identity of your business.
The cover photo is now the centre of attraction on your page and the buttons, such as the CTA (call to action) button are far more prominent. You will also notice the tabbed links are down the left hand side rather than underneath the cover photo.
What do you think of the new look? Do you like it? Might be worth you getting a new cover picture ready for when your page updates. The current size is 851px x 315px but it will update to 1032px x 385px. If you don’t update your cover photo picture when your page is updated it may end up looking pixelated or stretched.
